Consciousness Is Reality

Consciousness is present. That fact is undeniable. Even the attempt to deny the Presence of Consciousness arises within Consciousness itself, and so the very act of denial serves only as confirmation of what it aims to refute.

Whether thought confirms or denies the Presence of Consciousness, such a thought makes no difference to Consciousness' experience of Being Conscious.

Consciousness remains as it always, ever-presently is; Conscious.

The very nature of Consciousness is to be Conscious of - that is, to know - its own Presence. All there is, substantially, within Consciousness is Consciousness. As such, the only Substance for Consciousness to know within itself is Consciousness.

Consciousness is a Self-Knowing Substance.

The Consciousness of itself, the Knowing of itself, is not what Consciousness does from time to time. Consciousness is conscious of its Presence constantly. That is what it is; the Consciousness of itself, the Knowing of itself.

The attribute of Self-Knowingness is intrinsic to Consciousness.

Whether the mind arises or not, Consciousness Knows itself.

Consciousness is Conscious of itself during the appearance of thought, and during its absence. As such, the Presence of Consciousness is not dependent upon the appearance of thought, nor is its Knowing of itself dependent upon the appearance of thought. Consciousness Knows itself, without the agency of thought.

Moreover, Consciousness Knows that it is present during the appearance of all forms of perception and during their absence. Every sense perception -  such as seeing, hearing, touching, tasting and smelling - comes and goes, yet Consciousness remains immutably present. Therefore, Consciousness is not dependent upon the appearance of sense perception, nor is its Knowing of itself dependent upon sense perception. As such, its Knowing of itself could be referred to as 'pure' in the sense that its Knowing of itself is unfiltered by thought or perception.

In the absence of thought and perception, Consciousness is present all by itself. In that experience of pure Consciousness, there is no evidence of the mind, body or kosmos at large. They are nowhere to be found. All that is found is Consciousness itself, by itself.

When all that can be removed from our experience is removed, Consciousness is all that remains.

Consciousness is the only Reality present in that absence of all phenomena. It is the only one there, and the there, of course, is the experience of Reality as it wholly, essentially is.

Experientially, Consciousness is Reality as a whole.

The only Substantial Presence there is Consciousness; this very Consciousness conscious of these words now.

To drive this understanding home now, contemplate these questions in your innermost interiority:

Can Consciousness be removed from itself?

Can Consciousness be taken to a place outside of itself?

Is there such a place in my direct experience now?

Is there an edge or boundary of Consciousness, beyond which it is not?

When all thoughts and perceptions have disappeared, and all that remains of Reality is Consciousness, is there actually an experienced place that coincides with the Presence of Consciousness to which Consciousness could go?

The place we call 'unconsciousness' or 'unreality' is never experientially verifiable.

All we, Consciousness, ever experience and evidence is our Presence. That is all that substantially is.

Utterly simple.

Pure, self-knowing, self-evident, self-present Consciousness is the experience of the essential Reality of Reality.
